Today (2nd October 2026) I’m releasing a new track from my ninth album, Requiem For A Village, which comes out on Fiction on 6th November 2026. The music video, directed by Mike Bennion, is live now on my YouTube channel.
Requiem For A Village takes a very different path from The Overview. I imagined a Wicker Man landscape: Stanley Spencer’s paintings hang in the local art gallery, the stories of M. R. James and Algernon Blackwood line the shelves of the public library, and the children of the stones play in the market square. Requiem For A Village is a sepia-toned snapshot of a hidden neverland, and 54 minutes of cinema for the ears.

A reminder that I am playing two sold-out shows at the Royal Albert Hall on 28th and 29th October, with my band, the Parallax Orchestra and the Sansara choir, conducted by Tom Richards. For me the shows close one album cycle and introduce the next. We’ll play newly created orchestral arrangements of The Overview, along with tracks from Requiem For A Village.
