Steven has a long-running solo project named Bass Communion. Each Bass Communion album consists of atmospheric instrumental music based on a thematic musical idea. For example, Ghosts on Magnetic Tape was an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) record, Molotov and Haze used only guitar as a sound source, and Cenotaph was something that used rhythm as a kind of heartbeat over which Steven Iayered choral sounds.
